Almost to the Day
Another year has gone by so it must be time to return to the ol' About a Boy blog and post something. Honestly, I'm not sure what, though. Usually I swing by here when things are strange, or I need to sort something out in my head, or, as with the poetry, I want to post something that I only want a few people, or lots of people I don't know, to see.
So, where am I today?
Well, it's 2:00 a.m., it's father's day, I'm listening to Pinback (courtesy of my shuffle function in iTunes) and I've been sitting in front of the computer for several hours dealing with social media concerns and doing other online bits of maintenance. I've had a week of holidays and accomplished very little, although I did manage to fix a computer that was on the fritz. I did plan on doing some proper writing but that, big surprise, didn't happen in the way that I had hoped.
On the plus side, I have developed one of my ideas a little further, and when I do manage to sit down and do some writing there's a whole new narrative element that I'll be adding to see how it flows. I'm also creeping closer to the art book which I may, or may not, have mentioned here before (I'll browse back through posts and see if I did. If not I'll come back and do another post on it), and a business venture I started with my brother looks like it may be back on track, although without my enthusiasm for the work or the idea. The need to design a website and business cards is what prompted me to try a new angle on fixing the computer that has the Adobe Creative Suite on it, though, so maybe it's all part of some grand plan. The karmic wheel turns, turns, turns.
Well, that was 20 minutes of blathering on, so I think I'm gonna call it a night (year??), especially since I have no direct purpose for being here or planned article to write.
